It was the first thing that I heard on the news this morning – the winning lottery ticket of $50 Million belongs to someone in Langley, BC!
And I not only live in Langley but I always buy my lottery tickets in Langley. Not that I buy lottery tickets very often – in fact, I only buy them when there is a large prize. That in itself is a silly strategy – that I couldn’t get by on just winning a million or two.
Anyway, I quickly had a shower and got dressed – and all the time I was thinking ‘if the winning ticket came from Langley, then maybe it was mine!’
I usually get the winning numbers from the computer but I decided that today would be different. I would go to the place that I bought the ticket and hand it to the clerk to scan it for me. And the place where I bought the ticket was none other than the casino in Langley.
It’s now 12:55 PM and I’m ready to go to the casino. I haven’t looked at my ticket yet – I guess I’m superstitious.
If I did win the lottery – I’ll update this blog post – on my way to the airport. OMG, I’m so nervous I could almost pee!
We’ll talk to you soon.
UPDATE: It’s 7:00PM and I just got back from the casino in Langley. I didn’t win the $50 Million but I did win a free ticket, which is small consolation considering I lost a couple of hundred bucks on the slot machines. Think I’ll get a big letter “L” tattooed on my forehead.
