It’s almost Christmas, and I’ve been rushing around to see as many of my friends as possible.  But it will be impossible to see everyone before Saint Nick arrives on Wednesday.  So, I decided to post some photos and video clips about some of them.  I’ll be adding stuff each day, so come back often – okay?

Yesterday, my heart warmed by a visit with my gal pal, Sannie.  She and Jacob left for Mexico yesterday.

And then I drove to Coquitlam, to visit Robert Mahe, one of my closest friends on the planet.  Robert is traveling to Toronto with Savita, his loving partner, to visit her Mom.  But they’ll be back before New Years, so I’m looking forward to our next weekly ‘coffee ‘n chat’ before the New Year.

Here are two of my favorite video clips with Robert.

And then I drove to White Rock to visit Norm Wolff, another one of my closest friends.  You’ve probably heard or read about Norm and his wife, Dorean, many times over the past decade.  And every Friday morning since, we’ve been meeting at the Whitby House in White Rock, for coffee.

I’ve learned more about ‘life’ from Norm than I have from anyone else – and he’ll always be someone I trust and respect.

Here’s a couple of photos taken when we volunteered together at the Fraser Valley Cancer Centre in Surrey.  The photo on the left appears like I’m blushing – but it’s the makeup for Santa Danny.

By the way, Norm’s birthday is on Christmas Eve, so if you run into him next Tuesday, be sure to wish him a happy birthday AND a merry Christmas!

We both have birthdays within two weeks of Christmas and we both remember when as kids, our Christmas present(s) and birthday present(s) were usually the same one(s) for both events!

Hold it, Danny!  Surely, you’re not planning to include every one of your friends in this story?

Almost everyone, Corky!  I’m only leaving you out – because you’re just an imaginary friend.  Now go back to the corner of my mind and play in the cobwebs.

*******

Before I continue, I want to mention that this list isn’t in any particular order.  I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to mention all of my friends – but only because I don’t have everyone’s picture.  Or else, I know that you wouldn’t want me to write about you.  Or maybe, I do have photos of you but none with your clothes on – just kidding!  😍

I spent several years in the Maritimes (1989-1997) and lived in both Bedford, Nova Scotia (1989-92), and Moncton, New Brunswick (1992-97).  And although I’ve been in every province and Yukon territory in Canada – British Columbia and the Atlantic provinces, are my favorite places to live.

I have many friends in the Atlantic area, and I’m still in contact with many of them, including these folks:

Oops!  I just looked at the time and it’s time to get Santa ready for his last visit of the year.  It’s a private function at Sullivan Hall in Surrey and he’s really excited about seeing Wendy and Nasir, and their family, and friends.

To be continued.

UPDATE:  December 24, 2019 – I spent yesterday in bed – wasn’t feeling well.  Feeling much better today and hoping to make one last Santa Danny visit – but it’s going to be a surprise – so, shhh!

I’ll finish writing about my friends during the holidays.  Meanwhile, I hope that each of you has a safe, and healthy holiday season and that your dream comes true in 2020 (everyone, has at least one dream).

Hugs,

Danny
